Pricing procedure in sap sd

What is the use of the pricing procedure in SAP sd? Mainly it is used to define condition types of a group which falls in a sequence. This particular procedure is also used to determine the sub totals appearing in the process of pricing, for what extent the pricing process can be done manually and also which method or way the system is using in order calculate discount and surcharge percentages and finally to find the requirements for some conditions which must be fulfilled for the system to take conditions into the account.

Let’s see the pricing procedure which is used in R/3 system. The system it uses is having pre- defined pricing procedures which include all the condition types which are used most often and also the access sequences corresponding to those. And you of course will be able to modify these defined procedures and also if you want your own one, you can create a new one here.

There are some steps which you can follow in this pricing procedure.

The first step is the condition table. Remember if there is a condition table which is existing already which meets the requirements there is no need of creating a new condition table.

Let’s see he step 2. The second step is the access sequence. Also in here if there is an access sequence which is existing already which meets the requirements there is no need of creating a new access sequence. In this step, assigning the condition table to the access sequence is done. So in other words it is clear that the access sequence is a strategy to search which this system uses in order to find the records of conditions which are valid for a particular condition type. If there is need of creating new access sequence or to modify that, you should follow the rule called the Specific to General in the meantime you should maintain the accesses to the access sequence by specifying the tables of conditions in the sequence you like.

In the step three you can specify the condition type. But, if there is a condition type which is existing already which meets the requirements there is no need of creating a new condition type. And always you are recommended to copy a condition type which is existing and similar and then you can modify it by doing changes. In this step assigning the access sequence to the condition type is also done.

In the step 4 three things are done. That is specifying the pricing procedure, pricing procedure determination and the condition record. In the pricing procedure it is always good to recommended copying a pricing procedure which is existing and similar and then you can modify it by doing changes. Pricing procedure can be defined as a group or set of condition types and they are arranged in a particular sequence in which it needs to do the calculation. In the determination of pricing procedure after the process of maintaining the procedure, you can determine it. In the step 5, specifying condition record is done.
